The Régnié Vincent
J is made from a very
nice 2.30ha plot of 50 years old Gamay Noir, located in a
fabulous area out of the Régnié appellation (Soâne-et-Loire), on
the lieu-dit 'Les Bulliats'. Strong and whealthy, these old
wines offer an elegantly structured wine with
delicious and
crispy notes of red
fruit, translating a delicate
terroir.
Although its flavours set this Régnié closer to some Burgundy
wines, and despite it may also take the
Gamay de Bourgogne
appellation,
the
Régnié
Vincent J
best
reflects the character of its "climate", expressing its soils made
of red alluvial granite, along with
clay and crushed stones, here and there. It is how the terroir
gives
our wine its singularity, by feeding the vines with
those unique minerals.
To the "climate", and a benevolent
crop vineyard management, also come the benefits of the
semi-carbonic maceration, which is endemic in the Beaujolais. Using
such a technique mostly helps to particularly focus on the Fruit.
We therefore do not crush the grapes and partially use whole-bunch
fermentation, which in turn will allow one of the most interesting
phases of the process: the carbonic maceration. This specific
method allows to literally capture from the
grape its juicy, crispy and crunchy
flavors.
Thanks to the Courtesy of Hugues de
Wurstemberger, a talented and renowned Belgo-Swiss Photographer,
the bootles for the 2014 & 2015 vitanges will be dressed with
one of its splendid masterpieces, out of the 'Lauterbrunnental'
serie.
The 2014 vintage, which was awarded a Silver
Medal at this year's 'Concours de Paris', is almost
sold-out.
No need to be sad, as the 2015 vintage is
absolutely Gorgeous!
A
very (long) hot and dry summer drove the yield down this year... to
reach a low 25 hl/ha. Although we seriously curtailed the
volumes we usually harvested, the grapes offered unseen quality and
organoleptic characteristics.
Les Bulliats 2015
already show a very nice character, and after a long winter in the
tanks, it awaits to be bottled.
